"Menopause" and "Cancer" have become redflag words for me!!

I was stunned to realize that 21 people in my family/social/work circle have developed Cancer.

12 of those were women in their peri-menopausal or menopausal years, somewhere from mid-forties to fifty years of age.

More alarming to me, 6 of them were Nurses that I had either gone to school with, worked with or both. Even though I had worked with these nurses, none of them worked in the same place.

In addition, there are two Medical assistants that I have worked with who developed cancer. Now, the statistics show just for my circle of associates, 8 were Health Care Workers.

Curiousity increased in me! I began to write a list of who I knew that had cancer. I discovered that 5 were Teachers, 2 men, and 3 menopausal or post-menopausal women.

Is the correlation here menopause or their profession? Well, from the literature, we know that the Immune system starts to weaken when the hormones start going down.

Cancer is mutation in cell growth. Since, a normal healthy cell takes longer to develop, a mutated cell will grow faster.

A healthy Immune system will detect mutated cells and destroy them. But, when the Immune system weakens disease sneaks past the Immune system. Stressors on the body whether viral, chemical, mental/emotional cause the mutations. Cells divide and you have undeveloped cells growing.

You have the ability to prevent or cure disease!

However, each person is as unique as a snowflake! I believe that learning to balance the areas of life: Physical/Nutritional, Financial/Work, Spiritual, Mental/Emotional and Love/Family is the place to start, though we all are so different.

At the age of 12, I was exposed to the two major killers in our nation! My father had a heart attack on my 12th birthday. My paternal grandfather was diagnosed with Prostrate Cancer. I made up my mind to become a Registered Nurse and help People! Now, 31 years later, my experience, research and observations are here to help those who want to take the journey of Balancing Their Life!!! My education has taken me through Alternative Therapies, such as Reflexology, Reiki Healing, Massage Therapy, Vitamin Supplements, Food Supplements, EFT, Chakra and Energy balancing, Feng Shui, Color balancing, Aromatherapy, Crystal Healing, Universal Laws, Meditation, Nutrition and other Hands on Healing techniques.

Sometimes, it only takes one small change to improve your life and health. I am the eternal student, willing to share with you what I have learned. I have sought answers from many resources. WHY? I have always been a "Why?" child. I want to know why things happen with the human body and in people's lives.
