The Sacral Chakra

Location and Description

The second chakra is the social center located two inches below the naval and resonates to the color orange.

This chakra relates to water and the sense of Taste!!!

This is called the Sacral Chakra.

The musical note associated with this chakra is D or the sound O as in "home."

This chakra is associated with the Reproductive Organs and controls the pelvic area, sex organs, potency, fluid functions, kidneys, and bladder.

The gemstones that help the energy vibration in this chakra are carnelian, coral, gold calcite, and moonstone.

The aromas that help the energy flow in the second chakra are damaina, gardenia, sandalwood, and ylang-ylang.

The qualities or functions of the sacral chakra are primal feelings, sexuality, desire, sensuality, procreation, pleasure, awe, enthusiasm, relationships, union with nature, openness to others, personal creativity.

Foods that help proper energy flow in the second chakra are apricots, carrots, mangoes, oranges, peaches, persimmons, pumpkins, tangerienes.

This center oversees how you feel about yourself. The center relates to clear, healthy self-esteem and personal boundaries.This is the center that holds on to childhood issues such as abandonment or incest. All addictive behavior and creative energy is stored here. This center deals with all issues related to the Father.

Balance in the social center: You feel emotionally balanced and comfortable with who your are in the world.

Underactive social center: you are usually shutdown emtionally, cut off from your own feelings, depressed, feel lonely and have difficulty assessing your creative energy.

Overactive social center: You will tend to over compensate by excessive eating or sex. Your too empathetic taking on the emotional states of others and using passion or creativity to please otehrs instead of for your own approval.
